Margaret’s and Mine…

‘Drunkards Path’, machine pieced by Margaret Davidson (my aunt and a past member). Machine quilted by Sewn’n’Quilted. The quilting pattern is called Samurai which is most appropriate given the number of Japanese prints in the quilt.

Margaret and I attended a class on machine piecing Drunkards Path at Patchwork with Gail B a few years ago. I liked the kits so much I bought two. I have made the tops but they’re still waiting for me to quilt them.

‘Catitude’, machine pieced by Margaret Davidson. Machine quilted by Sewn’n’Quilted. This was a kit from Patchwork with Gail B. Margaret and I are both avid cat lovers. I bought a kit for myself as well but mine is still a top waiting for me to quilt.

‘Moments in Music’, machine pieced and quilted by Marie Klein. This is a Christmas present for my youngest son, Benjamin, who is a musician specialising in singing but he has played some of the instruments illustrated in this quilt. I bought the panel online from Oz Material Girls and some extra fabrics from Gail B for borders and to make the little quilt more square.

I have several tops waiting for me to quilt. I’m usually kept very busy doing costume work for the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Victoria but during our lockdowns, there have been no productions. I’ve been having a ball doing my own sewing, mainly patchwork.
