2015 June Night Meeting
Irene Blanck, a longtime member of Essendon Quilters, gave a trunk show highlighting her many quilts, including those featured in her new book ‘Focus on Applique’. As a guest speaker she kept us enthralled with the stories around each quilt and her messages of ‘be passionate about what you do’, and ‘sew every day’.
2015 June Day Meeting
Lots of sewing at today’s meeting along with the launch of the Website Membership Only section.
Preparations for EQI being one of the ‘Guest Groups’ at the Victorian Quilters Showcase in July is well under way.

Who made the ‘Ginger Fruit and Walnut Cake? Our mystery cake baker keeps on delighting members with this yummy morsel and we’d love the recipe!

2015 May Day Meeting
Biggest Morning Tea
Oh what a yummy lunch was shared by members on our Day Meeting, along with a display of tea cup quilts, and an all things ‘Tea’ trivia quiz. Celebrating Australia’s ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ for Cancer Research, EQI conducted a Block Challenge.
The theme was a provided appliqué pattern with a finished size of 8″.

Aussie Hero Quilts Jill kept us in stitches as she regaled us with her witty and humorous tales of not only her own patchwork quilting, but of stories about 'Aussie Heroes' and the heartfelt joy it gives to its' recipients. First she shared her own quilts …....
