Biography
Trish began patch working at the age of nineteen, using paper piecing to make quilts for her babies.
She learnt American Patchwork while living in Hong Kong in 1978.
After Hong Kong, Trish and her then young family moved back to Australia, Melbourne.
Trish joined a patchwork group in Melbourne; her quilts became bigger, usually of a medallion style.
She won a First prize with one of her early quilts at the Royal Melbourne Show.
Trish has been teaching patchwork and quilting since 1982/83, initially at Patchwork House.
Trish’s use of colour and design is impressive.
Recently, Trish had a number of her quilts published in the Quiltmania Children’s Special issue 2015.
In the current issue of Quiltmania No. 111, the first installment of her quilt “Camelot” is being published. This will continue in 112 and 113.
Also in Quiltmania No. 113, her quilt “Georgetown” is to be published.
Trish Harper is a patch-worker, embroiderer, quilter, teacher, and now author.
