Hospitals, shopping and ‘iso’…

It was suggested I give my take on our lockdown for 14 days. Leon fell over and hit his head. Blood everywhere. Called the ambulance and sent him off to the hospital for X-rays on his head. Picked him up 6 hours later. Tuesday morning.
Saturday, the grand final day, checked my texts. Vic government, someone is primary close contact, isolate for 14 days. The text came in at 11.30 am checked texts after the grand final. Fine, which one was it, where?
Sunday, off to get tested. Text from V.Gov. Leon, Royal Melbourne ok…I had been shopping. Oops. Negative test. Sign on meter box, in isolation, ..days to go. Chair outside, mask on a table inside, take phones (3) everywhere I go in case I have a call to see if we are home. No calls. Tuesday was the first day, so 4 days into isolation, Saturday now. That’s not too bad - 10 to go. Kids bought milk and bananas, everything was good. Plenty of food in the freezer (because I had been shopping…). Settle down to phone calls from and to friends, quilting, a zoom meeting.
Two lovely young men knock on the door the next Saturday. Yes, we are home, doing all the right things. Daughter, Kate, took her kids for the first dose. Isolate for 14 days, the receptionist had the virus. Kate is having phone calls to see if she is home (6.30 am) x 3. Kate, Tegan and Montana. She is going crazy.
13th day tested again, negative. Freedom. Just in time.
A friend passed away on the 2nd. This is so hard as anyone knows who is in the same position (nursing homes, etc). Cannot see the family. Thank goodness for mobile phones and zoom. Yes, we did go to the parking lot of Fawkner, parked outside Cordell, today Friday, masks on, iPad to see funeral. Brenda with family parked beside us and we were able to talk. So sad for everyone. So if you are in this situation, there is nothing that says you cannot go to the car park if you are in the zone. The family can see you and know you are there for them. Leo will be missed. A better, more loving person could not be found.
Keep safe
