Greetings to all EQI members.
We’re back!
Our first activity will be a Picnic in the Park. It will take the same format as the ones we held last year with such success. The date is Wednesday, November 17th in Woodlands Park, North Essendon from 10 am till 12. Bring your own food, drink, mask, show and tell and a folding chair if possible. There is a cafe very close by which has food and drink if you wish.
Our second activity will be a shared Christmas lunch at the Masonic Hall on Wednesday, December 15th from 11 till 2 pm. So you are asked to bring something savoury if your family name begins with a letter from the first half of the alphabet and if it begins with an M or later letter, please bring something sweet. As per Government regulations the Masonic Management is requiring that all its members are fully vaccinated prior to attending any meeting there.
These two activities are our plan towards opening up in a safe Covid way. They offer a time for us to get together with the hope that we can resume a full range of activities in 2022.
We have had a request from St Vincent’s ICU End of Life Special Interest Group for some quilts to add some a comfort for their patients. Kate has asked for quilts that are roughly 32 inches by 48 inches so not big ones. I plan to phone her on Monday to explain that some of ours may be a tad smaller or a tad bigger. (She works Monday - Wednesday). If you have a QFO that you can donate, bring it along to the Picnic on the 17th and I will see that it gets to St V’s.
There will be a whole range of activities that we want to do and can now do seeing restrictions are easing. I’m not rushing off to NSW, I simply want a hair cut.
Trust that the day stays fine for our Picnic. Hope to see you there.
Heather
